ด้วยจุดเริ่มต้นจากการเป็นตึกแถวแค่คูหาเดียว สถาปนิกแห่งออฟฟิศบ้านดำ Walllasia ได้สร้างพื้นที่อันแปลกประหลาดและคาดไม่ถึงให้กับชุมชนที่มันตั้งอยู่ด้วยความตั้งใจอันเรียบง่าย และความรับผิดชอบที่มีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมของชุมชน เจ้าของพื้นที่เริ่มต้นปลูกต้นไม้ด้านหน้า เมื่อเขาซื้อตึกแถวเพิ่มขึ้นตรงด้านหลัง รวมถึงในซอยตรงกันข้าม ความรู้สึกของการเป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะก็เกิดขึ้นในขอบเขตของพื้นที่ส่วนบุคคล จนทำให้เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ กำแพงที่ประชิดกับพื้นที่ ได้กลายเป็นกำแพงสีเขียวและสวนผักของเจ้าของบ้าน รวมถึงชุมชนในละแวกนั้นด้วย
เมื่อโครงการบ้านได้ขยายตัวขึ้น ชุมชนท้องถิ่นก็เริ่มเห็นถึงความเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านดีที่เกิดขึ้นในละแวกนี้ มันทำให้เกิดร่มเงาสีเขียวที่กลายเป็นพื้นที่พักผ่อนอันเป็นมิตรสำหรับผู้ผ่านไปผ่านมา และพ่อค้าแม่ค้าริมถนนได้หลบร้อน การพัฒนาของบ้านดำ แสดงให้เห็นว่า ด้วยอิทธิพลที่ถูกที่ควร ก็ส่งผลให้เกิดความเอื้อเฟื้อเผื่อแผ่โดยไม่ได้นัดหมาย แม้จะเป็นในพื้นที่ส่วนตัวอย่างยิ่งก็ตามที

Started off as only one block of shophouse, the architecture of the Black House was an anomaly and unforeseen to the community. But with a simple intention and responsibility towards the public environment, the owner started planting trees at the front. As he acquired additional row of shophouses to the back and opposite across the alley, this sense of public consideration also grew with its private boundary. Most recently, the wall facing the adjacent property has become a green wall and a vegetable garden available for private use as well as for the community.
As the house grows, the local community started to notice positive changes in the neighbourhood. The green-shaded area has become a friendly space for passers-by and street vendors to seek shelter. The development of the Black House shows that with the right influence, it can provide an unplanned generosity even within the strictly private context.
